“Courage is rightly considered the foremost of the virtues, for upon it, all others depend.”
Winston Churchill Courage to change. Courage to want more. Courage to work harder to get it. Courage to do it your way. Courage to dream. Courage to put all your strength into your next goal. Go For It! The Time is Now! Just START! PS: We watched the movie Creed this weekend. How I missed Rocky Balboa! We can always learn from him: “One step at a time. One punch at a time. One round at a time.”

I’m happy to share with you that I’ve been on top of my game or better said: developing my game and feeling confident! My recently discovered weapon is THE MORNING MIRACLE ROUTINE! Let me know if you want more on this subject and I’ll write about this soon. But today, for a change, I wasn’t feeling OK… and I found myself nervous about a lot going on personally and professionally. So I guess it’s more productive to write about 3 QUICK WAYS TO CALM DOWN WHEN YOU’RE ‘LOSING IT’
1. Take Deep Breaths There is a direct connection between our emotional state and breathing. The best way to bring your heart rate down and to regain your cool is to change your breathing. Take a slow, deep breath in, filling your lungs with air and expanding your diaphragm. Hold your breath and then slowly release the air through your mouth. Repeat. 2. Reduce the Multi-tasking When your mind anxiously jumps from one thought to another, trying to focus on and analyze several things all at once, make yourself stop and do one small easy task to feel that you can make it! This will signal your mind that you’re in control and that you’re accomplishing the desired outcomes and it will bring up your power to focus on one specific task at a time on the right direction! Listening to classical music also works with me! 3. Change your surroundings Go outside for a few minutes and enjoy the sunshine or observe nature! To stop staring at your computer and to look at something you like like a funny photo or a picture of your family will also help to calm down and gain perspective. I turned 34 last Sunday! I’m getting old!
AH NOT REALLY! :-) (although a good friend has sent me the picture above on my special day! I guess that's what friends are for!) If I can concentrate on 2 things for the next 12 months I think I can arrive at my next birthday younger: 1. TO LEARN 2. TO TAKE CARE OF MY BODY I borrowed the next article from Run Is a Gift: it allows me to learn from my brothers’ examples and also to gain the motivation to stay fit! I’ve shortened the article a little but if you want more just continue reading here. 3 Reasons Why Running makes you a better worker! No, even if you are a great runner, you won’t be able to escape from your problems … But there are other great benefits: 1- Grows your Confidence The simple fact that you overcome small adversities in every run (like running in the rain) and that you feel Fit, will increase your confidence levels! 2- Increases your Mental strength in stressful situations Running reduces anxiety levels and it’s the best (and cheapest) anti-stress pill in the world! 3- Stimulates Creativity We run to relax from Work, but it’s also a fact, that many brilliant ideas have emerged during a particular Run !! (Note: I wrote this article shortly after a morning Run) Many Advantages indeed, but wait please, do not start now… The Big “disadvantage” is that, probably, several co-workers will try to seduce you big time! You have 2 options: try to be strong or just start RUNNING !!! By Joao Pinto Coelho (Berlin Marathon 2015) every RUN IS A GIFT If you want to be successful, be happy first.
In the same circumstances, happy people have a far better chance of being successful in their chosen profession than unhappy people. Deep down, this is the truth! Don’t expect to first be successful and only then start working in your mission to happiness… Work it the other way around! It’s both effective and joyful! |
