Invest in relationships. Let your heart grow
For a change I will write about emotions. No strategies. No quick wins. But real life. What in fact matters most: relationships.
This, of course, has a strong link to confidence. A person to feel confident needs to feel safe, needs to feel loved. Otherwise it will seem like we’re standing in quicksand. We know this well when we are children and we’re growing up, we remember this when we want to nurture our kids… but somehow we leave this central shaft home and even forget about our old friendships, or other people who we daily interact with. Strange behavior. Why is it that we leave aside the fundamental key to happiness during most of our day or give the exclusivity of this only to our kids even forgetting our husband/ wife who is craving for love and appreciation?
Why is it that we wait for terrible losses, tragedies or diseases to get our life in order instead of ‘waking up’ and grabbing all the opportunities, encounters, conversations to leave our human loving touch breakthrough the indifference surrounding us? We need to open our eyes. Redefine our priorities. Make every day count. Do not lose our precious time and fill in the persistent void that keeps dominating spaces and hearts.
So how about investing in relationships and building strong ties, ties that will support us and also give love to others in a way that will make our heart grow and our purpose come out? Does it seem too risky? That’s because it is. It also makes us vulnerable… it will also fill our hearts with joy and make our days richer, make our existence matter.
So let me give you a few ideas (I feel like ‘reaching out’ seems so out of fashion with all the instant messaging and instant friendships or convenient get-togethers with small talk that we need to go back to basics and start training our communication skills and our empathic gestures):
If you think that being intelligent would help you become more confident…
I would recommend staying curious!
So how do you develop it?
