I've recently joined a new gym and after a few high intensity classes my scale allowed me to switch to a different 'stay fit' mode: PILATES.
I've been thinking about how the instructions differ from one class to the other. From 'push harder' to 'don't push too hard'. Pilates provides an awareness of each movement, each muscle. It practically enlightens us to realize the wellness that 'staying in balance' provides. It corrects our posture in such a way that the hour we stay in the gym goes much further: to the way we sit in the computer in the office, the way we walk, our posture at home. It shifts us from having a weight in our shoulders to being able to breathe in and out so consciously that we gain more strength and energy each hour that passes. It helps us to understand what is going on, to realize the consequence of each move, to correct, to adjust, to stay vigilant. It helps us to be self conscious and flexible during turbulent times. It's quite a lesson! Like the pilates instructor says: "keep this thoughts with you through the rest of the day, the rest of the week". >>>> BEING AWARE >>>> BEING VIGILANT >>>> SELF CONSCIOUS >>>> IN BALANCE >>>> FLEXIBLE WHAT A POWERFUL MINDSET TO LIFE IN THE OFFICE AND AT HOME :) * What about you? Do you relate to these guidelines at all or do you prefer to 'push harder' in all areas of your life?
